Are you about to make a film or TV production? Do you need to shoot in top end HD?

If so, then you should seriously consider shooting on the Panansonic Varicam.

I invested in this camera 4 years ago for my own productions and it was designed so I could start shooting and editing immediately. This makes my set up very unique, with everything you need for the highest quality, portability and flexibility.

What's more, as long as you have full insurance (valued up to £70K) and promise me you will look after it, you can hire the entire camera kit (see below for kit details) for just £400 per day.

The full kit comprises of:

Panasonic DVCPRO HD Varicam Camera AJ-HDC27 with adjustable frame rate. Shoot in 720P HD from 4 fps to 60 fps. The image quality is superb, idea for feature films & TV productions. The images are cinematic and very film like. Idea for shooting in both PAL 25fps & NTSC 30 fps.

Fujinon HA 22 X 7.3 Berm-M48 HD Lens. This is a powerfull lens which produces beautifully crisp images that are vibrant in colour and clarity. It also has a lens extender.

Sony LDM9050 LCD HD field monitor. An excellent HD field monitor which can be hand held whilst shooting on the move. It has frame marker facilities for various shooting ratios. It has 2XHDSDI inputs, as well as SDI, componant and composite etc. (Sky remote to show scale!). The picture quality is superb.

Porta Brace Shower and Rain Cover. Specially designed for the Varicam, it fits neatly over the camera body allowing access to the lens and controls. There is a separate coat for the viewfinder (included). In the little pocket on the right of the picture fits a rain jacket, which can be quickly fitted over the entire camera and lens if the flood gates open.

The complete package fits neatly into 2 peli cases.

Peli case 1: Fits the camera, lens, wet weather coat and lens hood.

Peli case 2: Fits the monitor, battery charger and 3 batteries (included) and monitor cables and power.

Both of the large Peli cases have wheels and a pulling handle making transportation easy. They are also air tight, ideal if the kit needs to be flown anywhere. The kit will fit into the back of most estate vechicles.

Goodman's Guide to The Panasonic Varicam. This is an excellent, user friendly hand book which will help any cameraman get the most out of the camera. It's well written, understandable and has loads of tips and charts. It also has a CD with a multitude of settings for the camera. I've read it from cover to cover and it was a great investment.

If you are new to the Varicam, a few hours with this book before the shoot will help you get the best out of the camera.

Panasonic AJHD 1200AE DVCPRO-HD Player/Recorder. This completes the DVCPro HD set up. It plays out full HD via a HDSDI or via a firewire directly into your edit suite. It can down convert to SD which can be played out via the SDI connection. This makes it ideal for both off-line and on-line. Works in both PAL & NTSC.

So, as you can see, this really is the full package you will need to shoot and digitize your production. At £400 per day, this is probably one the best offer on the market.
